Hello from the garden!

My name is Susan…sole gardener and proprietor of Tangled Gardens.

A collection of cottage gardens, small flower field, kitchen garden, tiny orchard and woodland gardens. All in a bit of a tangle at the best of times. With a fondness for heirloom flowers that are delicate and airy with intoxicating fragrance and a touch of wildness. It is here, tucked away in towering dahlias and piles of hydrangeas, you can find me on an endless gardening journey.

Walking the line between unruly and tidy is where I am most at home in the garden. Careful planning with a bit of whimsy while allowing Mother Nature to lead the way. The seasons dictating which flowers and grasses grace the gardens.

The beautiful Pacific Northwest is where I garden. A semi-wooded five acre parcel, enchanting with its large cedar trees and all manor of inhabitants. Home to two horses, a small flock of chickens (nothing says “farm” more than a rooster) and two dogs. Our Victorian style farmhouse is tucked in the center of it all and is where the cottage gardens flourish and bloom.

Come with me down the garden path as I move through the seasons in my gardens, sharing my thoughts and experiences as I continue to dream up this wonderfully tangled escape.
